Attics, Walls & Floors

At McHale's Environmental Insulation Inc. our professional insulation installation services include both new custom plus existing homes and buildings. We specialize in the insulation of Attics, Walls & Floors as well as provide insulation removal services. Using state of the art building science techniques and equipment, we can diagnose inefficiencies and develop solutions to improve them.

Insulating Existing Walls

We insulate existing walls by drilling a small hole (1.5-inch diameter) through the exterior or interior wall covering, whichever is least invasive, we then check for structural blocking or laterals. We pump in under a small amount of pressure dry borate cellulose to dense pack the cavities. We plug and patch the holes with the appropriate material and make ready for the customer to apply any additional coatings, texture, seal primer and paint. Fiber glass can also be used instead of cellulose as a blown-in blanket.

Fiberglass

There are different types of fiberglass insulation and a number of manufacturers. Fiberglass insulation commonly comes in batts or blankets and can also be blown in. Fiberglass batting has different facings for use as an air and vapor barrier. McHale's Environmental Insulation Inc. can advise you on the appropriate type and R-value to use for your climate code and application to meet today’s energy efficiency standards.

Cotton Insulation

Cotton Insulation is an environmentally friendly cotton fiber with quality features including no itch or skin irritation, maximum thermal performance and superior absorption. Like Cellulose, it’s also treated with a borate fire retardant that also acts as a mold, mildew and pest inhibitor.

Rock Wool Insulation

Rock wool, also called mineral wool, is insulation made from natural stone spun into fibers. It comes in batts for attics, walls and floors, resists fire and moisture, and helps quiet sound between rooms. McHale's Environmental Insulation Inc. can advise you on whether rock wool is the right fit for your home.

Air Sealing

Air sealing closes the gaps and cracks where air moves in and out of your home: around attic hatches, recessed lights, plumbing and wiring holes, and the tops of walls. Sealing those leaks reduces building leakage, so the air you pay to heat and cool stays inside, drafts and dust are cut down, and your insulation can do its job.

Insulation Removal

McHale's Environmental Insulation Inc. can evaluate the condition of your existing attic, wall, or floor insulation, and can remove and dispose of it if necessary.
